Many
community partners have worked at developping the community network Prescott-Russell
à la carte. Following is a brief description of the roles each
partner played in the development and implementation of the GIS project.

partners of Prescott-Russell à la carte.
Local
Municipalities |
| The
eight municipalities of the Prescott and Russell area, are partners
in the making of the Municipal Portal of the Prescott-Russell
à la carte project. Each municipality is committed
to provide Internet access and working stations to their employees
and to promote the technological networking of the Geographical
Information System (GIS) and its use for municipal services. The
municipalities will also contribute to the basic development of
data and content for the GIS. |
Community
Access Program Centers (CAP) |
| The
26 Community Access Program Centers of Prescott and Russell will
be partners in the implementation of the public networking of the
Prescott-Russell à la carte project. As partner
of the project, the Community Access Centers of the area will act
as springboards for the launching of various portals of the project.
Moreover, the Community Access Centers of Prescott-Russell propose
to provide the training for their users and to promote the use of
the GIS on the Internet. These Community Access Centers have been
created throughout our region as part of the Community Access Program
offered by Industry
Canada. |
HMNET
Technologies Inc. |

HMNet
Technologies Inc. is an important Internet service provider
in the Prescott and Russell area. In operation since 1995, HMNet
is characterized by the quality of its systems and for its personalized
customer service. As a partner of the Prescott-Russell à la
carte project, HMNet Technologies Inc. is committed to providing
Internet access to the municipalities for free during a three months
trial period. In addition, HMNet has been instrumental in providing
expertise for the development of the technological components of
the network. |
Conseil
Scolaire de District Catholique de l'Est Ontarien (CSDCEO) |

The
CSDCEO
is a school board that administers over 50 schools, including 7
francophone secondary schools, in Eastern Ontario. Within the framework
of the project, the CSDCEO is committed of developing a geomatic
curriculum for all of its high schools. |

Finally,
it is important to acknowledge the financial support of Industry
Canada and its Francommunautés
Virtuelles program. The important contribution of this program
has been instrumental in funding the development of the web based
content and applications of Prescott-Russell à la carte.
